It was fun to think back on all the amazing gadgets, clothing pieces, and other things that enhanced my life in 2017. Besides books and food (and my beloved MacBook Pro), here are 10 items I used the most this year.
V-60 Pourover +Electric Coffee Kettle
Whether it’s caffeinated or decaf coffee beans, I absolutely love the taste of V-60 coffee. I was using a Chemex for a while, but I never drank all the coffee. Add on my electric kettle (gifted at a bridal shower) and mornings are simply the best.
Hydro Flask Thermos
As an Active Endeavors ambassador, this was a gift from late this fall. I use it for all hot beverages, preferably my oat milk lattes from Horizon Line Coffee (seriously, give this a try with their homemade brown sugar). If you’re local, pop over and support small biz otherwise snag one online to keep your bevs warm for hours!
Yup, I’m talking about this thing… again. I l-o-v-e my Day Designer. It keeps me organized and on track. Bonus: the quotes at the top of the pages are so inspiring!
I’ve never used a liquid foundation and liked it. I always got cracks in my skin or it would dry me out. Beautycounter’s is incredibly moisturizing and blends in like nothing else. It’s a staple.
Summer, winter, fall, spring. I am always in these boots.
These came into my life in 2017 and I am certainly a fan. They are incredibly comfortable, cute, and supportive (for me!). This one was a favorite birthday gift from my bestie this year + I’m now on the lookout for a few more.
Many of you know I’m a HUGE Patagonia fan. They’re a B-Corp and the company is super solid for a hundred other reasons. On our honeymoon, I snagged this pullover and find myself in it quite often!
Black Lululemon leggings
I’ve had black lulu leggings for years. I prefer black leggings over anything else and I prefer to wear them all the time. I’m absolutely loving the high waisted options now, which are insanely comfortable.
DSLR small lens
I snagged this in 2016 and barely used it until my friend taught me some of the basics of DSLR. We use it for our Drinks in Des Moines posts and I love the look it gives photos. If you have a Canon DSLR, it’s a no-brainer addition as it’s fairly inexpensive! Here’s a photo shot at the Continental with this lens.
Madewell high waisted jeans
Another nod to high waisted clothing pieces. I am a huge fan of Madewell jeans because of the consistency in the way they fit. I snagged these last winter and wear them at least three times week! In fact, it’s probably time to snag another pair in a darker color. The first pic has the jeans, my favorite cabi top, and the Patagonia pullover I mentioned!
