I'M SO HAPPY YOU ARE HERE!
I’m a small-town gal, living in Des Moines and working around the world to help brands make a bigger impact with their presence.
I am a community builder and an online marketing maven who loves helping brilliant business owners reach more people while making more money.
After creating dozens of successful brands, projects, and events, I started teaching others how they could do the same!
I use this site to share my current businesses and a high level overview of how we might be able to work together. From everyday brand management to regularly offered online courses, below are the specific ways we can engage if our paths align.
Love Local is one part agency, one part education. From free resources for local business owners to 90-day programs designed to drive revenue to long-term partnerships with clients, our team knows that owning a local business requires a very different approach to marketing. This brand is for you’re a local business looking for ways to grow your local presence using tools on the internet.
I co-own the hummingbirds, a community of local champions, content creators, and bloggers. We mobilize 10-100 people in partnership with brands that want to get their message out using Instagram and Facebook. Someone else talking about your brand is much more effective than you doing it. It’s why word of mouth marketing is so important to brands, nothing is more powerful than your friend recommending a product or service or experience they love. We created a “charm” of 200+ people ready to talk about your brand all over social media to get you new eyeballs and new customers.
Most of my life was me living out exactly how I “should” be living. I checked all the boxes by going to a good college, studying abroad, and getting good grades.
It was always about doing things that others would approve of, instead of asking myself what I wanted and why I wanted it. The semester before I graduated college, I read a book by Donald Miller called A Million Miles in a Thousand Years and it shifted everything I thought about my life and what I wanted to do.
So because I am totally an Enneagram 7, I applied to bike cross country to raise money for clean water (nevermind I had no training and didn’t own a bike) and met nine strangers in San Diego to bike for two months cross-country. As you can imagine, my life completely changed.
I realized on that bike ride that the only limitation to succeeding in life was… me! So I started only doing what I love and here is how it has unfolded.
I came back from that trip and started my 11 month AmeriCorps role at Rebuilding Together, and simultaneously launched an event called The Water Ride, which has raised $25k for clean water + education in Ghana in the last six years.
After my year of service, I worked to launch a brand new division at a nonprofit in Des Moines called “Community Building and Engagement” and worked closely with neighborhood residents, community leaders, government officials, and everyone in-between to help revitalize three east-side neighborhoods. In my short time there, we raised over $10 million to fund projects and mobilize the community.
During that time I launched POP UP YOGA DSM when no one was offering yoga in creative ways with brands, at restaurants, and certainly not with goats or cats. Though these experiences were both fruitful, I was ready to try something in the for-profit world, which led to working at a digital marketing agency for a couple years and re-branding + re-launching a group called FemCity Des Moines.
In one year alone, FemCity Des Moines grew from 5 members to 500. Our events exploded and women from all over were showing up. We grew 5000%! And we continue growing to this day.
My passion and expertise in community building only grew stronger, so I created Brand Launch with my business partner, Whitney Warne, and our primary focus is local community marketing.
We bring together individuals who identify as community builders (and create stellar social media content) and help match them with local brands. We launched in July 2018 and have created remarkable experiences in partnership with frozen pizza companies, festivals, nonprofit events and everything in-between.
I share all of this because I have been able to take my curiosities and create new revenue streams, while also significantly impacting my local community.
And now I do this work with my clients + teach them similar principles. From small nonprofits who are looking to create more visibility online to bigger brands that are investing heavily in paid traffic, my goal is to boost your visibility and get really clear on how you nurture your ideal client to become your lifelong customer.
Let's around your brand!
