A full week at home, wow that felt really really good. Got my personal training sessions in, deep planning work for 2026, friend hang outs and lots of time with my littles.
1. I think the biggest thing I get to do in 2026 is disappoint more people. More no’s, less apologies, fewer explanations. I’m tired of bending to and for people who need or want or expect me to be something I’m not and operate in ways I don’t find true to who I am. As I think about what would really give me unstoppable, creative energy and momentum, I am very clear I get to stop overindexing on what others may think (or will think) when I do, don’t, stop, or start something. It’s very refreshing to own this narrative and of course a daily journey to show up and experience allowing disappointment to live in others.
2. I had my inaugural egg nog latte and I need you to know it’s 12/10 at Zanzibar’s — my rec is get a 12 oz with two shots of espresso.
3. Like every year, I busted out Christina Aguilera’s Christmas album and it hits me all at once. It’s early 2000s and I’m singing Christina Aguilera down the air vents, trying to impress my family who are happily not listening and enjoying their lives knowing their daughter has absolutely no future in singing. Seeing the way my daughter sings her way through basketball games, I am seeing glimpses of my past in her future and who knows, maybe she’ll have the pipes I always dreamed of.
4. Fresh bob activated.
5. It’s a huge push to the end at Hummingbirds HQ — we’re crushing our goals (talking just shy of 300% YoY growth) and with this massive growth the entirety of the company is at a really exciting upleveling point. To hit future milestones we get to do things, be different versions of ourselves, and collaborate in ways we’ve never done before. The Science of Scaling was the perfect audiobook to binge listen the past week as we approach 2026. 💪
Alright, time for my monthly girls happy hour before a weekend of frantic packing & wrapping presents. Yeehaw!
